Microsoft finally reveals good news about the Surface Duo

The specialized website Windows Central said that Microsoft released a statement explaining why the Android 11 update for the Surface Duo V1 never arrives and when users expect it to start rolling out, and this comes after the company initially stated that it intends to ship the update before the end of 2021.
“We are in the process of finalizing the validation and certification of Android 11. We originally planned to roll out Android 11 as an update to the Surface Duo in December, but needed a few more weeks to ensure a great customer experience,” said the statement from Kimmo Lehtosalo, Senior Director of Program Management at Microsoft. Surface Duo. We expect to start rolling out Android 11 in the next few weeks, starting with unlocked devices.”
According to Windows Central’s own sources, the Android 11 update for the Surface Duo V1 has been in the works for a few weeks, but has never started rolling out due to the holiday break. Now that the holidays are over, Microsoft can resume preparing the update for rollout, pushing it through “validation and certification” with partners like Google and AT&T.
The site says that Microsoft says the update will begin rolling out unlocked Surface Duo devices in the next few weeks, which means it may take a little longer for unlocked AT&T models to receive the update. The good news is that if the registry is going through anything, it shouldn’t take more than two weeks of waiting between unlocked and locked devices to get the update.
